What Does                 Elected Officers Really Do For You?

Take a moment to ask if YOUR elected officers are -

 1. Fulfilling the job description to the best of your expectations?

 2. What have they really done to advance the club?

 3. What have your dues provided you?

 4. Or are they just glory hogs expecting to gain recognition and an award at the years end           Shindig? Which begs the question why must a paid club member be expected to pay for         the end of year/new officer installment event be expected to pay again? Surely there is at       least one member benefit.

If one was to ever visit the open to the public CTCC web site no one would know who the correct person in what office held what position. Some of the names listed aren't even members anymore not to mention an current event calendar. YET there exist an officers position that will most likely receive recognition at years end. Guess if there are no real events an event calendar is not necessary. The perfect example!

The following list are of the non-essential officers a club may wish to make up. Uncertain way this overhead is needed other than to make others feel good.

Considering these Un-necessary offices, especially when, some of the officers of these faux appointments never produce. If the office is occupied with a producing officer that helps advance the the organization that is great but if not the question must be asked 'WHY"? If an officer is not producing they are just dead weight being to be carried by club members.

Membership Director -

Focuses on recruiting new members and engaging current ones.

How that working out? How many new members have you seen of late?

Newspaper Editor -

Web Master - Is there really one? How current is the clubs web site? Appears to be very outdated  and in serious need of at least current updates. Is there really a webmaster at all or just a place holder as is the case of other offices? Is this web site even close to and/or being accurate? Click Here.

The Club Historian - pay close attention to this one - Could plays a crucial role in preserving the history and achievements of the club. This officer should be responsible for documenting events, milestones, and member contributions. Record, Keeping, and  Maintaining a detailed record of club activities, meetings, and events.

Documentation Collect and organize photographs, newsletters, and other memorabilia.

Prepares reports on club history for presentations at meetings.

Archive, create and manage a digital and physical archive of club documents.

Collaboration Work with others to gather information and materials for documentation.

                                                                                                          This has never been done.

A Club Historian, if so inspired and/or desired, could enhances the club's identity and long standing history in the community and fosters a sense of belonging among members by celebrating and RECORDING/PUBLISHING  the clubs long journey and achievements.

Something never before done in club history and sorely needed. Original ideas such as this have never been attempted and might just be well received.

New ideas are the very things this organization needs that might just help breath new life into it.

Regrettably the old gal is just stagnating away.

If an officer wishes not to perform the FULL duty of the office then PLEASE, for the sake of the club, move aside and allow a serios person to fulfill the responsibility.

When nominations come due you MUST consider each of these duties and ask yourself are current officers really doing the job or just coasting?

YOUR

MOST officers take their office seriously and perform their offices quite well but there are always that few that exist that seemingly just do not care and would prefer to just tweak by hoping that others do not recognize the undermotivated officer..
Most intelligent people can can easily see past this and quickly identify the workers from the coasters or those that are looking for the easy way out and relies on subordinate officers to make themselves look good. Is this approach working?

Wouldn't you prefer to be involved with a forward thinking 21st century club with leadership of the same?
Think Youth!

How is wisdom related to aging? While many people associate wisdom with advanced age, becoming wise clearly requires more than "just" growing old.
Conventional thinking suggest that the older one becomes the wiser they get, however never is heard of gaining more energetic.
How is this working out for CTCC?
