      Are Organizers Up To The BIGGEST Event In 50 Years?

Will some wish to go cheap for this event even though the treasury

reports indicate adequate member funds (not officer funds)?

Of all events ever conducted by this club this should be the most aticipated

event in club history.

The 50th anniversary gala should be the grandest of all club events. A true milestone of which the club has never before witnessed. An event that should trump any previous event ever conducted prior. This should be an event even grander than the run of the mill annual  banquet that the current officers bestow upon each other with little regard to where or the cost. If there exists a concern of finances then perhaps the two events should be consolidated into one large event to allow a huge saving UNLESS of course current officers do not wish to share the spotlight with those responsible for them to be at this point in club history.  Already event coordinators are expressing concerns as the where to locate a cheap place for the 50th anniversary but no cost concerns for their end of year event. Any other place less than equal to the pomp and circumstance bestowed upon themselves would be so hypocritical and a slap in the face to all other members both then and now. A truly disgraceful display to the many that have contributed so much to make sure this event could ever take place. Ashamed to think that organizers could be so self absorbed.

How many annual Corvette banquettes, Officer installations, etc. has the club hosted over the last half century? The answer should be about forty nine. Forty nine years with this event being the pinnacle of the clubs yearly activities.

 

The 50th anniversary event will present a truly remarkable opportunity for the organizers to showcase a level of panache/elegance never before exhibited by the club and why not, it will be the biggest event in Waco clubs history at 50 years old.

A customary annual event that the officers spare little expense to assure a class event that celebrates another successful year (NOT years) of club existence and pays homage to the outgoing officers and celebrate the new incoming officers which in many cases is the same old names just changing offices. The organizers of this annual event, mostly officers, make SURE the event is not only the production of the year and LITTLE  is spared to shine a spotlight mostly on outgoing officers and at a minimum the incoming club officers.

 

Will be interesting to observe if the 50th anniversary event organizers can resist the temptation of old grudges and place the club and its history foremost and present a high quality and most unique event for all past members and officers that have made this event possible rather than again focusing the spotlight upon themselves.

 

For THIS event hopefully the organizers truly understand what a milestone for an organization this should be and respect all with all of the respect it's history with honesty and dignity and resist the temptation of the cutting of corners to save money. Especially when one considers what the officers invest on their once a year ceremony.

How many 50th year club anniversaries has the club celebrated? The answer would be zero. This upcoming anniversary is truly a high water mark for any organization that would normally pay homage to its founders, all officers both past and present and past and current members that span 50 years of club success. Of course the treasury will take a hit but after all isn't something as big as this why is it there? Why not give back to the ones that have given so much for 50 years? Anything thing less might be considered selfish.

If little is spared for the annual event then what should be the budget for an event that spans 50 times greater in time and history and not be tempted to settle for the cheapest place that becomes available?

All  current officers and members need to be most respectful to the many that preceded those today and have made this event a reality for them.

​

Just because this event does not spotlight the current officers it is so hoped that the event organizers do not embarrass themselves and will recognize this milestone and realize what a special opportunity is at hand and not to do the cheap but illustrate the degree of elegance/refinement of a 50 year old Waco Institution is worthy of.
