October

Interesting quote from a long passed months club newsletter especially following previous months exposure of club neglectfulness of an opportunity.

"Coming up we may have some Homecoming Parades, so be ready for that."

Whywas the responsible club of the time officials not ready  before the damage?

Does this better illustrate the leadership and direction of this organization?

Why

September

The following is a prime example of a mismanagement style that persist and occured in September that once again cast a white hot spotlight onto its under or non attention to badly needed public exposure, promote the club name and the getting out the word of the club can be found here in an email sent to this web site begging for a club response to participate on a Homecoming parade which would have certainly promoted the club.

Many emails arrived at this site each week. This particular email was felt relavant to include here as further truth and evidence of what is included within this site.

"Hi there I have attempted for a few weeks now to make contact with the events coordinator for the Corvette club, a Mr. Still man, about being in our homecoming parade this Thursday September 22, 2016. I have not heard back from him so I am attempting to email the club directly. Your members participated in our Championship football parade last January and Mr. Stillman indicated then your club also likes to participate in homecoming functions as well. We are not having cars at the actual homecoming game, but we would love for you to drive our key people and some of our court members in the parade. We will be staging at the Sam’s club in Waco between 5:15  and 5:50pm and the parade will begin promptly at 6pm. Please call me if any of your members would be able to attend and help us out with this event. Please call me directly on my cell at (806) 543-9361 as soon as you can, so that we might make the final adjustments. We would welcome as many that can come. I have attached the formal invitation as well. With your permission we would love to recognize your group in our yearbook for participating in the parade. We will have yearbook staff on hand to take pictures.

                                                           Thank you again,

"Dear Ms. Hardin,

I am so very sorry for your delayed or no response asking the Centex Corvette Club for help from  Mr. Stillman and that your request was handled so poorly. Regretfully this is not the first time such has happened. For reasons unknown club leadership continues to fail its members.

This site is NOT affiliated with the club. Its purpose is to attempt to illustrate or shine a light to all club members how their elected officers refuse to serve them as they should and thanks to people like you help to confirm and convey that message.

I was once a member and an officer of this once fine club during a time the club would had never missed an opportunity offered such as yours but fear those days for the club may now be extinct however I still somehow feel some club responsibility to make sure matters such as these are processed and maybe somehow improved. That is just the way the club used to be and still feel that is should be managed more professionally. The club itself has some really great folks. Its just the ones at the top that are in questioned.

Again I apologize for what was once a wonderful and caring club.

Hopefully by now you have received a response from the club or at the very least will be receiving a embarrassing club apology."

"It happens, so I do understand. This was the only car club in the area that actually has a web site.  They had helped us earlier in the year during our championship parade for football and had expressed an interest in helping for homecoming too. We were able to get one from a dealership for the grand marshal  and two other dealerships donated trucks so it did go well. I do wish we had a way to reach out to owners of classic cars and convertibles for future events. Unfortunately I do not have a Facebook account so that would actually be the best way to reach people. I decided to do the next best thing and reach out. Thank you for getting back to me though.

                Thank you,

                Amanda Hardin"

Again I wish to extend an apology for the club. Good folks just being led by very poor top management.

It seems a bit shameful that the now one of the two club founders, first member, pre - charter member # 1/ year one officer, and club second NCCC  member continues to feel that the clubs name continues to be relavant in Waco and Nationally and continues to attempt to preserve the club name after nearly 50 years while some of the current leadership simply does little and seemingly carries with it a less than cavalier attitude. Yet who gets criticized? Seems there may be other ex members/officers of the club that care more about the clubs future than do some current leadership.

These are the same leaders that now ask why is our membership not increasing. How many Corvettes are seen in the Waco area that are not club members? Ask them if they knew if a Corvette Club existed and then ask of the owner why they are not a member. Many will state it is due to its reputation regarding the lack of membership respect by club leadership that they have heard of or received from other sources. Regrettably members are so darned close to the forest they cannot see the trees. Ashamed general membership is unable to or unwilling to identify the issues and the personality/s at the forefront of these issues.  Hopefully these cries for change will  very   soon be realized and perhaps this downward trend will be recognized from within and the needed change is made before it is too late.
